3. Search Kern Superior Court for a court order, bail action, disposition, remand, or sentence entry.
4. Use California VINE for custody notification status when the person was tracked in the state VINE system.
5. Follow transfer clues to CDCR CIRIS, BOP, ICE, U.S. Marshals, or state hospital channels when the KCSO event was not the final release.

About Max-Med Facility

Max-Med opened in 1978 as a Type II jail with a rated capacity of 374 beds. KCSO says the capacity later increased to 408 after approval of 34 added beds by the Board of State and Community Corrections. Those history details are not just local color. Max-Med Release Timing

KCSO gives the same core release-timing guidance for Max-Med that appears in Pre-Trial release logistics. Time-served inmates are released between 8:00 AM and midnight. Court releases occur before midnight on the scheduled date. Bail release can take up to eight hours. Those times are practical, not a guarantee that every case will clear at a specific hour. Max-Med has a broader property window than Pre-Trial. KCSO says property releases occur Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The same general property constraints apply: clothing is not released, valid state or federal photo ID is required for the out-of-custody person receiving money or property, and the process may take 30 minutes to three hours.

Max-Med Federal Transfers
